Dr. Sofia-Katerina Kufner
Research:
I am interested in understanding how the earth works on various scales, ranging from tectonic deformation to glacial microseismicity. In order to study such phenomena, I work with seismological data from the network design and fieldwork to the data processing. For the geodynamic interpretation, I combine seismological observations with results derived from other geophysical and geological disciplines. This helps to increase knowledge on earth’s evolution and potential current and future geohazards.
