LEGION 44 is the title of a new Hollywood film that illustrates what has to be done on a large scale to adress the climate change (https://www.legion44.world/). In the Fürth area, such efforts for accelerated weathering as a CO2 sink are taking place as part of the Carbon Drawdown Initiative (https://www.carbon-drawdown.de/what-we-do). The Chair of Applied Geology is actively involved in such investigations with water and isotope analyses. The driving force behind the Carbon Drawdown Initiative comes from Dirk Paessler, who is also one of the executive producers of the film. The film premiere took place on 27 November 2024 with over 300 guests in Nuremberg with Johannes Barth as moderator for the inspiring discussion with director Leila Conner and actors from the film.
